International Coalition for the Decade
The International Coalition has initiated several projects, which
are led by specialized Commissions composed by representatives of
the member associations:
The Education for Peace and Non-violence Commission
by Christian Renoux (French Coalition for the Decade). Colette Petit (Pax Christi International and French Coalition),
Matthew Whitten (IFOR) and Bernhard Nolz (Kooperation für den Frieden) are part of it. This Commissions members
are analysing the means for the promotion of an education for
peace and non-violence on an international scale. They aim at
co-ordinating the national initiatives dealing with such themes.
The International Campaign Commission
is presided by Alain Richard
(Franciscain International). The Commissions members are David Hay-Edie, Christian Renoux (French Coalition),
Soha Bayoumi (International Coalition) and Estelle Ribier (International Coalition). They have elaborated an
international declaration on violence-free education and education for peace and non-violence
. This Commission is now
about to launch an international campaign for the adoption of this declaration.
is in charge of the study of an itinerant
artistic event (exposition, theatre
) promoting the Decade.
One of its objectives is to make a four- language CD in cooperation
with singers from each region of the world. Regine Kappeler (Austrian Coalition) moderates this Commission.

Christian Renoux (French Coalition), Patrick Nguema Edou (Réseau
Foi, Culture et Education) and Hans Ulrich Gerber (World Council
of Churches). The aim of this Commission is to propose a list
of animation, development and communication projects to the
commissions such as the Civilian Intervention for Peace Commission
