The International Network for a Culture of Non-Violence and Peace is a non profit association created in 2003 in order to promote the Decade for the Promotion of a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence in the world, proclaimed by the United Nations in 1998. It gathers associations wishing to contribute to the promotion of the culture of peace and non-violence (art. 2 of its statute).
The association wishes to further the passage from a culture of violence to a culture of non-violence, for the well-being of the children and teenagers of the world.
It gathers national coalitions and international organisations, among which observing members, and received the support of 13 luminaries among which 4 Nobel Peace Prize Laureates, who are members of its Honorary Board.
It has several missions, and among its numerous aims, it particularly wants to encourage non-violence and peace education.
